I have many good friends and buddies... though... most of them are not here with me in Kuching.
There is one of them that celebrated his birthday just a week ago. Our friendship is so special, dramatic yet sweet.
I still remember i met him in a camp when i am in the secondary school. He came from another district.
Since then, we only met once or twice a year. However, the bonding between us stays strong. We always write letters to each others (perhaps what's called pen-pal). We phoned each others once in a while and our conversation can lasts 30 mins or even an hour.
Things get harder after my SPM examination. There're many things happened that changed me... and then i moved to Kuching. We did lost contact after that until i started my university life. In a short trip back to Sarikei, i met him at the open-air food court. We exchanged our contact numbers and contacted each others via phone calls after that. The weird thing is we can still feel the intimacy friendship between us. Sometimes i think that it is because we both appreciate the friendship.
Few months ago, he transferred to Kuching because of the job. Even so, we didn't went out so frequently because both of us are so busy with our own jobs. However, we are always there for each other if either of us get depressed and need an ear. I can sit there and silently listen to his words whole night. Of course, occasionally feedback with appropriate responses. He will do the same for me if i needed one.
At the night of his birthday few days before, i took him for a glass of special wine and then we headed to the riverside for a simple birthday cake. He made three wishes that night. I can still remember his three wishes... It is simple yet touching. I truly prayed that his wishes will be granted and may God bless my friend who is also my brother.
I always belief that friends and brothers will not changed themselves for the benefit of us but they will be there for you and they will always help you and support you in the path of seeking for truth and maturity.
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
